Day 14 Friday 28th June Strasbourg France
Hooray – the sun is shining when we wake up this
morning. We are in Strasbourg so
suddenly have to start speaking French!!
After breakfast we take a canal boat ride through the amazingly
beautiful Strasbourg. Every bend in the river or canal gives us another
beautiful scene. The most striking thing
about this city is that there are flowers
everywhere. Most houses have
exquisitely beautiful window flower
boxes. You can almost smell the perfume of them. Everything is so OLD
We went into the most beautiful cathedral we had ever seen
(each one seems to be better than the last) and in this cathedral was the
Astronomical clock (there is a replica of it in Sydney) The most intricate, old
and amazing clock I have ever seen.
After some shopping time and a quick lunch on the boat we were off again
on buses to visit the Alsace region for a wine tasting. We passed through several villages along the
way, each more beautiful than the one before.
I must have taken about 600 photos today. It’s impossible not to. The wine tasting was
good (so I am told) We then stopped in a town on the way back, again beautiful,
stunning, old
Tonight after Dinner we had a wood carving demonstration.
