We
started our very quiet day with a walk to the East Coast Beach. We walked through lots of little shops and
roadside cafes along the way. We went
into a local market and decided we wouldn’t like to buy anything there. The weather was quite pleasant – not too hot.
We watched the cyclists, joggers and people doing exercises. We saw hundreds of ships in the bay. We went to the local food market and bought a
couple of very cheap snacks for lunch and home for a big rest in the afternoon.
Paul slept and I went shopping again but by now it was SSOOO hot.
Lorraine
& Murray went on a half day sightseeing tour of Singapore (we had previously
done it)
After
tea we caught a taxi and went to Marina Bay Sands hotel to see the lights of
Singapore. The taxi only cost $12
Singapore, even though it was quite a distance to travel. We went to the top of the hotel and bought a
drink (mocktails for $12 were the cheapest we could find. We had magnificent seats overlooking the
lights of Singapore. We stayed there for
ages and then caught a taxi home. The hotel is spectacular and so were the
lights – so much better than Paris.
