Day 9 Sunday 23rd June Amsterdam

No time to write this yesterday so am writing 2 blogs today (that's if I don't find something better to do!!!)

We had a free day today and did a LOT of walking.  Over 10 kms in fact as we walked down canals and along lanes and streets.  It’s very easy to go the wrong way but it all adds to the fun.  We found Anne Frank’s House but didn’t go in as there were no tickets available and the queue to get in was huge.
From there we walked to the floating flower markets which were really beautiful  with wonderful aroma's.  I think it would be better in Spring with all the spring flowers.  They sell massive amounts of bulbs at this time of the year.

We boarded the Avalon Artistry II at 4 pm.  We were expecting this ship to be fantastic as it is brand new.  It exceeded our expectations.  Our rooms are unbelievable.  Beautifully designed with everything we could want and more. We had a beautiful dinner and snuggled into our awesome memory foam mattresses for a good nights rest. We sail tomorrow afternoon.

  1. The ship looks fabulous. Hope the weather warms up for you. We played in the fog today - it lasted from 8.30 to about 11am, so you're not missing much here. Enjoy yourselves - Jackie & Ian
